Hi Decklin,

It isn't possible for the moment. This feature is planned for the
version 1.1 of irssi-xmpp. But I have to release the version 1.0 first
and I haven't work on it for a while. I hope I can find find the time to
finish it.

To implement this feature I have to overload the printing functions of
the private messages. It's not difficult because I have already done
that for the public messages (to support MUC).

And remember, I will be very happy if someone submit a patch for this
feature.
