Thanks. Yes, there is indeed a helpful-looking STARTUP file in that
directory.
However, when I try the following commands to connect to a server, I have no
idea how to find out what went wrong:
/load xmpp
11:17:17 -!- Irssi: Loaded module xmpp/core
11:17:17 -!- Irssi: Loaded module xmpp/text
11:17:17 -!- Irssi: Loaded module xmpp/fe
/xmppconnect -host jabber.server.com astone password
('jabber.server.com' is replaced with the hostname of the server I need to
connect to, and 'password' is repllced with my password on that server).
After the above commands, I get nothing - no new connection window, no error
message, no success message, nothing in the irssi status window.
How can I find out what happened (did it try to connect? did it fail to
authenticate? is the service not listening? etc) or otherwise work out what
I need to do to connect?
Thanks,
Antony Stone.
